amendments made

I changed this screen shot of my magazineby changing where the mast heads/heading were placed along the left handside. I also changed the brightness/contrast of the background image to make it stand outmore.
I changed the size of the black circle so it would be bigger, so more writing would be able to fit in it instead of over lapping it with the background. These changes made my magazine front cover look better and it was more easier to read/follow for my target audience. It need to be simple for the audience that i was aiming my magazine at.

reasons for costume, props, locations, overall style

For images through out  my magzine i have used urban backgrounds to fit in the indie/rock magazine theme. Most of my images are darkend backgrounds with the model bright making the model /image standing out.
The clothing my model is wearing is typical indie/rock clothing. For example Vans (shoes) are typically aimed at people who skate, the people who skate are more than likely to listen to indie/rock music which is the type of music my magazine is made around. She is also wearing a band t-shirt of, The Beatles, which is a classic indie/rock band that everyone knows/notices. My models make up is also dark, this gives an indie/rock vibe as it is what most indie/rock artists wear.
I didnt use any props as i wanted my audience's full attention on the model focusing on what she is wearing and how she is posed.
My overall style for the whole magazine is indie/rock, aimed at people who dont really care about appearence, like the over the top glam look. It is for people who are layed back and are intrested in things such as skating and listen to indie/rock music on a daily basis.

Ideas for fonts

Final font
I used this font for my final font because it is easy to read and isnt to fussy making you focus on what is most important.
Example font
I didnt use this as my final font as it looked to plain and boring when places on the background and around the images.
Example font
I didnt use this font for a final because it was too bold to use right the way through the magazine as everything would look like headings. Also when used in a large amount of text it is hard to read and i need to use a font that was easy to read and wouldnt confuse my audience
Example font
I didnt use this font as it is hard to read as it is joint up, it as doesnt really fit in with the indie/rock theme of the magazine as it is to posh/fancy.

Images used and why.

I used this image on my front page because I thought that things such as mast heads and titles would fit around this image nicely without over lapping the main image. It is also a picture of the person from the main story from the magazine, making fans intrested in the magazine. I mainly like the pose and clothing my model is wearing as it represents the main target audience of indie/rock. This will make people from my target audience notice the magazine as the clothing she is wearing stands out as an indie/rock genre of magazine. Also the area that the photo is taken stands out as a urban area, this also represents indie/rock.

I used this image on my double page spread because where the photo is taken, a red door, is the name of her new album. It also contasts with the background as the images both have different brightness/contrast, making it stand out. The clothing my model is wearing makes her look indie/rock which is the type of magazine it is.
I used this image on my content page because the black and white image contrast with the black background making the image of the person from the main story in the magazine stand out.I also like the clothes shes wearing as the stand out from the background.

Feed back from my class on front cover

By showing my class my front cover I was able to find out what they liked and what they thought could be inproved. The feed back from the class was helpful as i could change the things that they wanted to see improved giving my front cover a better finish. The feed back and changes also help to target at my target audience, making them more interested in my magazine.

flat plan for double page spread

This is a flat plan for my double page spread showing where things will go and why. I also used colour to represent what colours I would use.

Flat plan for content page

This is a detailed flat plan of my content page showing where I will put things and why I would put them there. Through out the making things can be slightly changed, putting things in different places or adding more detail.
